The 3rd of October is
World Habitat Day. It is an opportunity to think about the way we live, to consider what 'home' means to people, and think about how we live harmoniously in our habitats.
This year, World Habitat Day falls during the month when demographers predict our planet’s seven billionth inhabitant will be born. The future that this child and its generation will inherit depends to a great degree on how we handle the competing pressures of growing population growth, urbanization and climate change.

World Habitat Day 2012:
The United Nations chose the theme Better City, Better Life to highlight our collective vision of a sustainable urban world that harnesses the potential and possibilities, mitigates inequalities and disparities, and provides a home for people of all cultures and ages, both rich and poor.
